About the Hermès Textiles Group
The Hermès textile division brings together specialist textile houses that balance craftsmanship with modern interior applications. Together, Métaphores, Verel de Belval and Le Crin combine different weaving traditions and material expertise, with each workshop contributing its own distinct material language and production techniques.
Métaphores
Based in Lyon, Métaphores develops contemporary fabrics and wallcoverings with a strong focus on texture, colour and woven construction. The collections balance artistic expression with practical application, making them suited to both residential and commercial interiors. Designs such as St Germain, Latitude, Iliade and Métaphores Eden particularly stand out for their layered textures, tonal palettes and architectural feel.
Verel de Belval
Verel de Belval draws on more than a century of expertise in silk weaving from Lyon, specialising in artisanal silks produced using traditional weaving techniques. The workshop is known for reinterpreting historical textile references through a more modern interior lens, combining intricate pattern work, rich texture and refined colour palettes. The collection includes both classical silk expressions and more modern fabrics ideal for upholstery and drapery applications.
Le Crin
Le Crin preserves the rare craft of horsehair weaving, producing textiles on traditional jacquard looms in France using techniques that have remained largely unchanged. Horsehair is woven together with fibres, including linen and metallic threads, to create richly textured surfaces that have exceptional durability. Traditionally used across furniture and decorative applications, Le Crin fabric is valued for its sculptural finish, depth and distinctive character within contemporary interiors.
