Colony
Colony Roma is an Italian textile and wallcovering house established in 1976. Best known for its woven textiles, the brand draws inspiration from French, Venetian, Piedmontese and Oriental interiors, alongside motifs found in nature and historical design archives.
Originally known for creating fabrics designed for furniture, Colony has spent almost 50 years refining a design language that balances history, craftsmanship and contemporary interiors. Today, founder Sandro Roscioli and his son Gabriele continue to develop new collections and exhibit internationally, including at Salone del Mobile in Milan.
BOYAC exclusively represents Colony in Australia, offering access to its collections through our range of exclusive upholstery and fabrics. Alongside its textiles, many of Colony’s most recognised designs are also available as coordinating wallpapers.
About the Brand
The Colony collection spans lampas, velvets, brocades and silks, with each weave bringing its own character to an interior. Rich patterns, layered textures and decorative details sit at the heart of the range, reflecting the brand’s long-standing expertise in textile craftsmanship.
Many collections combine traditional weaving techniques with updated colour palettes and proportions. This balance gives the fabrics a sense of familiarity while keeping them relevant for contemporary residential projects.
Alongside its textiles, Colony offers wallcoverings that share the same rich character and visual detail as its fabrics. These collections are frequently chosen for residential textile applications, offering designers a broad range of patterns, weaves and decorative details.
Designed in Italy with international inspirations
Every Colony collection is developed and woven in Italy. Decorative arts, travel, collecting and the natural world continue to influence the creative direction of the brand, appearing through botanical motifs, ornamental details and richly patterned surfaces.
Materiality is equally important. Complex woven constructions give many designs their depth and character, allowing pattern and texture to emerge through the fabric itself rather than relying solely on printed decoration.
Gallery
Colony fabrics draw on nature, historical references and decorative traditions from around the world. Botanical motifs and richly woven designs are recurring features throughout the collection.
Marly remains one of the brand’s most popular designs. Its distinctive moquette weave is widely recognised within the industry and remains one of Colony’s most iconic textiles.
