SCENES FROM THE FAR EAST

Pearl River Design belongs to a genre of souvenir paintings that European merchants often brought home from their travels in the Far East. Cherished memories of the trade routes they had crossed, valued as much for their artistry as for the distant world they preserved.

This design is inspired by a late-18th-century view of Canton. The scene captures vivid details of daily life along the Pearl River delta, boats resting on still water, figures at work along the banks, and diverse flora. It’s a landscape that unfolds live action, rather than static imagery.

SKIES, CEILINGS & BORDERS

To complete the ensemble, a selection of assorted wainscoting, borders, skies, and ceilings is also available for Pearl River Decor. Coordinating wainscoting and borders are supplied in 300cm panel lengths, allowing the scene to be extended from dado to cornice for a fully immersive installation.

Pearl River Sky Ceiling features a soft pastel sky, and for those wanting to carry the story overhead, a custom-order ceiling is offered in two colourways: the soft, botanical Almond Green, and a richly layered Multicolour. The room can be dressed as completely, or as subtly, as the space calls for.

FAIRHAVEN: THIBAUT’S BOTANICAL COLLECTION

For designers drawn to layered, garden-inspired interiors, Thibaut’s collection Fairhaven is one to watch this season. Inspired by period artworks of stylized botanicals and large-scale patterns, it captures the Arts and Crafts movement in fresh, garden-forward form. It’s a reminder that even America’s oldest wallpaper house is still finding new ways to bring the garden indoors — timeless, tactile and entirely liveable, with its roots firmly in the garden.
