FRENCH FACTORY VISIT: METAPHORES MILL

BOYAC Visit: Last month, the BOYAC team visited the Creation Metaphores Mill in Bussieres, not far from Lyon. The Commercial director, Alexandre Grenet, showed us around this extraordinary mill and its operations. The balance of traditional weaving on Jacquard & Doby looms with modern technology is evident. The mill operates 2 shifts per day, 5 days a week with a staff of 35 – from weavers to quality control managers, many of whom have worked for over 30 years adding to the Savoir Faire of the company.

In particular, this mill has been honoured with having the “Meilleur ouvrier de France” awarded to the Director & Production Manager, a prestigious award presented by the French Government. Many unique Verel de Belval designs are woven in this mill.

Visiting Metaphores in their unique fabric mill was an honor and privilege.
